QA Automation Engineer
Location: REMOTE in Texas or North Carolina
Salary: $150,000-175,000 plus annual discretionary bonus
About the Role:
An elite financial firm is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to help shape and elevate quality assurance practices across its software development lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, enjoys mentoring others, and is passionate about building robust, scalable testing solutions that support high-quality product delivery.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and maintain detailed test strategies, plans, and cases for both new features and existing systems.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define clear, testable requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Detect, document, and track bugs and inconsistencies, ensuring transparency and resolution across teams.
- Lead the creation and upkeep of automated testing frameworks (experience with Robot Framework is a plus).
- Conduct manual testing when needed to ensure full coverage and reliability.
- Assist business users in planning and executing user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development process.
- Mentor engineers on QA best practices and help integrate testing into daily workflows.
- Continuously improve testing environments and processes to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to optimize testing efforts and accelerate release cycles.
- Participate in sprint planning and roadmap discussions to support prioritization and estimation.
What You Bring:
- A degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in automated software testing.
- Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Solid understanding of manual testing techniques and tools.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows.
- A track record of mentoring or coaching team members in QA practices.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets for end-to-end testing.
- Self-starter mindset with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
Bonus Points For:
- Background in financial services or familiarity with financial/accounting concepts.
- Experience working with enterprise-scale data platforms and analytics syst
This role is open to a candidate working fully remote so long as they live in the state of Texas or North Carolina.
