Associate Actuary - Bermuda Actuarial Team
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing actuarial team operating at the intersection of valuation, modeling, and capital strategy within one of the world's most dynamic reinsurance markets. The team plays a critical role in driving strategic decision-making through model production and analytics that support global business objectives.
The Role
The Associate Actuary will manage all aspects of the Bermuda model production process, serving as a key link between onshore model development and stakeholders in valuation, finance, and risk. This position offers exposure to complex life and annuity products, evolving regulatory frameworks, and a wide range of modeling and analytical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end production of Best Estimate Liability (BEL) projections under the Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) framework.
- Deliver accurate, timely model outputs to valuation and finance teams.
- Perform stress and sensitivity testing to support management decisions.
- Partner with valuation teams to analyze results and communicate insights effectively.
- Collaborate with onshore model development to validate and enhance ALFA-based cash-flow models.
- Integrate new reinsurance transactions into the valuation framework.
- Prepare clear documentation for internal governance, audit, and regulatory reviews.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in the (re)insurance industry.
- ASA designation (or equivalent) and actively pursuing Fellowship (FSA or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with actuarial modeling systems - MG-ALFA preferred.
- Strong understanding of life and annuity products and valuation frameworks.
- Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Python or similar coding languages is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Bermuda EBS and/or asset adequacy testing (CFT) is advantageous.
