Legal & Compliance Specialist (m/w/d)
New Opportunity:
A rapidly expanding international company in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Legal & Compliance Specialist / Generalist to support its European operations. This position plays a central role in ensuring that innovative clean‑energy technologies are developed and deployed in line with legal, ethical, and regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will take ownership of a broad range of compliance activities across multiple European entities, including:
- Implementing and continually enhancing the regional compliance program
- Conducting compliance risk assessments and recommending practical mitigation measures
- Creating and delivering training that strengthens a culture of integrity and regulatory awareness
- Supporting compliance with EU sanctions, export control regulations, trade compliance obligations, and anti‑corruption standards
- Assisting with matters related to the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR) and the International Procurement Instrument (IPI/IAA), including coordination of internal information requests
- Contributing to ESG initiatives, including sustainability compliance and supply chain due diligence
- Performing thorough due diligence on third parties such as distributors, suppliers, and agents to identify legal, regulatory, and reputational risks
Qualifications
- A legal qualification, ideally with the right to practice in an EU jurisdiction
- Five to nine years of experience in compliance, legal, audit, or regulatory roles within companies, law firms, or public bodies
- Solid familiarity with European regulatory frameworks, preferably in sectors connected to renewable energy
- Fluent in English; German or Chinese skills are viewed as an added strength
