Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance pricing models for commercial lines products using actuarial techniques and statistical tools.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, assess risk, and support rate-making decisions.
- Collaborate with underwriting, product, and finance teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives.
- Monitor portfolio performance and recommend rate changes or segmentation strategies to improve profitability.
- Support regulatory filings and ensure compliance with applicable actuarial standards and guidelines.
- Conduct impact analyses of pricing changes and present findings to senior leadership.
- Contribute to the development of new products and rating plans through data-driven insights.
- Leverage tools such as SQL, R, Python, or Excel to automate processes and improve efficiency.
- Mentor junior analysts and support their technical and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS or FCAS).
- 3+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in commercial lines pricing (e.g., general liability, property, auto, workers' compensation).
- Strong proficiency in actuarial modeling techniques and statistical analysis.
- Experience with programming and data tools such as SQL, R, Python, or Excel/VBA.
- Solid understanding of insurance principles, underwriting, and regulatory environments.
- Proven ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
