VP - Project Finance
Key Responsibilities
Credit Assessment & Portfolio Monitoring
- Review credit applications and make high-quality recommendations to senior management on transaction-specific cases
- Continuously monitor portfolio performance in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Deliver clear, concise, and high-standard written and verbal analysis
Credit Decision-Making
- Make balanced, timely, and well-judged credit decisions within the firm's defined risk appetite
Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory
- Act as a trusted partner to front office teams, providing guidance on transactions and strategic developments
- Identify risks, breaches, or red flags, and escalate issues appropriately to senior leadership
Strategic Contribution
- Support MBE Credit strategic initiatives and contribute to broader business objectives
- Participate in the MBE Credit Risk Committee and represent the division in internal forums
Risk Framework & Policy Development
- Contribute to the development of risk appetite frameworks and credit policies alongside the Credit Strategy Group
Market & Sector Expertise
- Build and maintain knowledge across industries, sectors, geographies, and structured finance products
- Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and credit developments
Risk Culture & Governance
- Champion strong risk culture principles, including accountability, curiosity, and constructive challenge
- Collaborate effectively with 1st and 2nd Line of Defence teams
Relationship Management
- Maintain strong internal relationships across regional and global stakeholders
- Promote best practice sharing and support the broader group strategy
Key Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree preferably in finance or economics
- Minimal 3-5 years of work experience in Project Finance and sound understanding of regulatory requirements related to the credit sanctioning and monitoring process
- Results driven, with a strong sense of accountability
- Strong decision-making skills, the ability to demonstrate sound judgement
- Strong networking and influencing skills
- Verbal and written communication skills in English is essential
- Desire for self-development. Increase own knowledge through keeping abreast of news-flow, market developments and credit trends that may be relevant to the companies, countries and sectors covered
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail and accuracy
