Trading Operations Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Trading teams to coordinate seaborne deliveries efficiently.
  • Operate within the Trade Operations Department, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of import and export documentation in compliance with shipment-specific requirements and relevant Letters of Credit.
  • Manage daily communications with suppliers, customers, shipping agents, banks, surveyors, and other stakeholders to fulfill documentation needs for cross-border transactions on both purchase and sales sides.
  • Ensure the prompt issuance of all cargo-related documents- required for the successful importation of goods into destination countries.
  • Oversee the end-to-end operational workflow of shipments, including invoicing, documentation, Letter of Credit presentations, and processing of vendor payment requests.
  • Administer Import/Export Letters of Credit, Collections, and related banking transactions in accordance with international trade regulations (e.g., UCP 600, ISBP 745, URC 522).
  • Coordinate the invoicing and processing of both inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Act as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders throughout the shipping and documentation lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in international trade operations, preferably within import/export, shipping, freight forwarding, or financial institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, including shipping documentation, documentary credits, and bank guarantees.
  • Familiarity with key trade and finance regulations such as UCP 600, ISBP 745, ISP 98, URC 522, Incoterms 2020, and Bill of Lading terms.
  • Experience with ERP systems, ideally JD Edwards.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with the ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills, coupled with a professional and composed demeanor.
