About the Role
We're looking for a pragmatic and technically skilled Trading Operations Engineer to join our infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-uptime environments, enjoys solving real-world operational challenges, and has a strong foundation in systems engineering and automation.
You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of our trading infrastructure. This includes everything from scripting automation tools to managing cloud deployments and responding to live incidents.
What You'll Do
- Operate and improve production systems in a Linux-based environment
- Build and maintain infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps workflows
- Write Python scripts to automate operational tasks and streamline workflows
- Monitor system health using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and performance
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
What We're Looking For
Infrastructure & Systems:
- Strong Linux systems administration experience
- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Terragrunt)
Operational Experience:
- Hands-on experience supporting production systems and handling on-call duties
- Background in uptime-critical environments (e.g., trading, fintech, healthtech)
- Previous roles such as DevOps Engineer, SRE, or Platform Engineer
Scripting & Automation:
- Proficient in Python for automation and tooling
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins)
Monitoring & Observability:
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
- Ability to configure alerts and dashboards
Configuration Management:
- Familiarity with Ansible, Chef, or SaltStack
- Experience adapting and maintaining config files or playbooks
Work Style & Communication:
- Calm and methodical under pressure
- Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in remote or international teams is a plus
Bonus Points For
- Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, EC2, or VPC
- Familiarity with PromQL or metrics tuning
- Exposure to GitOps tools like Helm or FluxCD
- Willingness to relocate to Dubai or prior international work experience
