Systematic Trading Technology Developer
An elite hedge fund is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join its Systematic Technology team in New York. This is a high-impact role focused on building and evolving the firm's real-time trading infrastructure, which supports execution, compliance, and risk management across global markets. Engineers in this group work closely with investment professionals and technologists to deliver scalable, high-performance systems that underpin the firm's quantitative strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement broker-neutral trading systems across multiple asset classes, including equities, futures, and FX.
- Develop real-time compliance and risk directives embedded within trading platforms and analytics tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Support and enhance existing infrastructure on a rotational basis, with flexibility to coordinate across international offices.
- Contribute to the continuous evolution of the firm's systematic trading ecosystem through innovation and technical leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of professional Java development experience.
- Strong experience with distributed systems, market data processing, and execution management.
- Proficiency in asynchronous messaging, multithreading, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Agile, TDD, CI/CD, and container-based deployment workflows.
- Python programming experience and UI development (Reactive frameworks, AG Grid) are a plus.
- Solid understanding of financial markets and trading infrastructure preferred.
