Supervisory Accountant
About the Role
A leading global insurer is looking for a Supervisory Accountant to join its International Controllership team. This position plays a key role in preparing and analyzing consolidated financial results for international operations, ensuring alignment with US GAAP and internal reporting standards. The role supports external financial disclosures and helps maintain a robust control environment while driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements for international operations based on regional submissions, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal policies
- Support the preparation of financial disclosures included in quarterly and annual filings (10-Q/10-K equivalents)
- Perform analytical reviews of Balance Sheet and Income Statement results, identifying trends, variances, and key insights
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including actuarial, reinsurance, investments, and regional finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Execute journal entries and conduct ledger-level analysis, including investigation and remediation of data discrepancies
- Maintain data integrity and contribute to enhancing internal controls and governance processes
- Support both internal and external audit activities by providing documentation, analysis, and responses
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline close activities and strengthen reporting accuracy
- Provide additional support during peak close periods to ensure timely and accurate reporting deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting or controllership, preferably within a public company environment
- Insurance or financial services industry experience is a plus

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance precision and big-picture analysis
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to completion
- Experience working with financial systems and a willingness to learn new tools
