Senior Fund Accountant
Position Overview
Our client, a growing middle-market private equity firm based in Dallas, is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join its finance team. This individual will play a key role in fund accounting, investor reporting, portfolio valuation support, and quarterly financial reporting across multiple private equity funds and related investment vehicles. The position offers significant exposure to senior leadership, investment professionals, and external service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for private equity funds and related entities.
- Prepare and review fund financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Calculate and maintain investor capital account balances, commitments, contributions, distributions, and allocations.
- Assist with quarterly NAV reporting and portfolio valuation support.
- Prepare capital call and distribution notices and related investor reporting packages.
- Track investment activity including acquisitions, exits, management fee allocations, carried interest, and fund expenses.
- Reconcile cash, investment, and partner capital accounts.
- Coordinate with third-party fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- Support annual audits and preparation of audited financial statements.
- Assist with waterfall calculations and carried interest allocations.
- Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis for senior management and investor relations teams.
- Review partnership agreements and ensure proper application of fund economics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 3-6+ years of experience in private equity fund accounting, public accounting, fund administration, or alternative investments.
- Experience with private equity fund structures and partnership accounting.
- Strong understanding of capital calls, distributions, waterfalls, carried interest, and partner allocations.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and investment company accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Experience with Investran, Allvue, eFront, Yardi Investment Suite, or similar fund accounting systems preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
