Our client is a technology-driven hedge fund operating in the high-frequency trading space, where software engineering directly impacts trading performance and profitability. They are looking for a C++ Software Engineer to join their Amsterdam team and help build ultra-low-latency trading systems that power strategies across global financial markets.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize high-performance C++ applications used in live trading.
- Enhance the speed, reliability, and scalability of low-latency trading infrastructure.
- Work closely with traders and quantitative researchers to implement and improve trading strategies.
- Profile, benchmark, and optimize systems down to the microsecond level.
- Contribute to the architecture of distributed trading platforms and market data systems.
- Solve complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced, production-critical environment.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with modern C++ (C++17/20 preferred).
- Background in performance-critical or latency-sensitive systems.
- Solid understanding of Linux, multithreading, networking, and system-level programming.
- Excellent problem-solving and algorithmic skills.
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Previous experience in trading, HFT, fintech, gaming, telecommunications, or other high-performance environments is advantageous.
