Reinsurance Accountant
Our client, a top global life insurance firm, is seeking a Reinsurance Accountant who will be responsible for accurate and timely processing of reinsurance transactions, reconciliations, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of insurance and reinsurance accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and reconcile reinsurance statements and bordereaux.
- Assist in month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding balances with brokers and reinsurers.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and finance teams to ensure accurate data flow and reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory and management reports related to reinsurance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance accounting preferred.
- Strong understanding of STAT and reinsurance principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
