Managing Director - TMT Originations
A leading global credit investing firm with over ~$40B AUM is looking to add to the team. The firm is focused on providing performing and special situation credit facilities to a variety of industries, including healthcare, energy, technology, manufacturing, etc. The firm has a proven track record of performance across market cycles, anchored by a rigorous investment approach and deep sector knowledge. The direct lending team is looking to add a Managing Director to lead originations in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) vertical. This role can be based in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Palo Alto.
This is a senior leadership role within the firm's origination team, with responsibly for identifying, developing, and executing new lending opportunities. The role will be highly entrepreneurial and externally facing.
Responsibilities:
- Deal Origination: Source proprietary and sponsor-backed private credit opportunities in the TMT sector, including software, communications infrastructure, digital media, and technology-enabled services
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain deep relationships with financial sponsors, investment banks, company management teams, advisors, and industry contacts
- Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as a senior leader within the origination team, mentoring junior professionals and partnering with investment and credit committees to drive deal execution
Qualifications:
- ~10-15+ years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, investment banking, or direct lending with a strong focus on the TMT sector
- Deep network of relationships with sponsors, intermediaries, and management teams
- Demonstrated track record of originating, structuring, and executing successful middle-market credit transactions
