Director - Trade and Working Capital Solutions

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trade finance, supply chain finance, and working capital optimization strategies, combined with a proven track record in B2B sales within a corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Origination:

    • Drive new client acquisition across APAC, targeting large corporates, regional champions, and mid-market enterprises.
    • Originate and structure trade and working capital solutions including receivables finance, payables finance, guarantees, and structured trade products.
    • Lead end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting to deal closure, including RFP responses and pricing negotiations.
  • Client Engagement:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with CFOs, treasurers, and procurement heads to understand their liquidity and supply chain needs.
    • Deliver consultative sales pitches and working capital diagnostics to identify client pain points and propose tailored solutions.
  • Product & Market Expertise:

    • Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive offerings in trade and working capital finance.
    • Collaborate with product, credit, legal, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of solutions.
  • Strategic Initiatives:

    • Contribute to the development of regional sales strategies, product enhancements, and go-to-market campaigns.
    • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client forums to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership.
  • Risk & Compliance:

    • Ensure all transactions comply with internal risk policies, KYC/AML standards, and regional regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 10-15 years of experience in transaction banking, trade finance, or working capital solutions, with a strong sales orientation.
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring and managing corporate clients across APAC.
  • Deep understanding of trade finance instruments, supply chain finance structures, and working capital analytics.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Multilingual capabilities (e.g., Mandarin, Bahasa, Japanese, or other Asian languages) are advantageous.
  • Experience working in a corporate or fintech environment with a focus on innovation and digital trade platforms.
  • Familiarity with ESG-linked trade finance and sustainable supply chain solutions.
