Director, Asset Management
This position is responsible for leading the execution of tailored business strategies for each asset, ensuring alignment with investment goals and market dynamics. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, market-savvy professional with a strong command of financial analysis, stakeholder management, and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive asset performance by collaborating with third-party operators to enhance revenue, control costs, and maintain high-quality standards.
- Maintain deep market intelligence through direct engagement with brokers, tenants, lenders, and local stakeholders.
- Contribute to underwriting and due diligence for new acquisitions and development opportunities, offering strategic insights and validating assumptions.
- Lead the transition from development to stabilization, including oversight of lease-up strategies and capital execution.
- Manage external relationships with property managers, leasing teams, legal counsel, and consultants to ensure accountability and alignment.
- Conduct regular site visits and maintain an active presence in target markets.
- Monitor macro and microeconomic trends to inform strategic pivots in asset plans, including hold/sell decisions and capital deployment.
- Oversee financial reporting, including quarterly reviews, valuation updates, and investor communications.
- Approve annual budgets and long-term capital plans; ensure compliance with financing terms and operational benchmarks.
- Coordinate asset dispositions, including broker selection, contract negotiation, and closing execution.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across internal teams and external partners to ensure cohesive execution of investment strategies.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in real estate, finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in real estate asset management, with direct oversight of multiple assets (specifically multifamily and mix use).
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; familiarity with joint ventures and acquisition underwriting is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- Strategic thinker with a willingness to challenge assumptions and drive innovation.
- Comfortable with travel and in-market engagement across multiple geographies.
