Assistant Controller Officer
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting or banking environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrates a professional presence with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Capable of managing stress, setting priorities, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communicator with both internal teams and external clients.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide daily operational support to the Controller across a range of complex tasks.
- Engage regularly with bank leadership, auditors, and third-party vendors.
- Participate in specialized and general bank training programs.
- Ensure compliance with BSA, AML, and all internal policies and procedures.
- Promote and embody the bank's customer-first service culture and organizational values.
Additional Duties
- Prepare and review internal and external financial reports, including consolidations, tax entries, and allocations.
- Assist with journal entries, calculations, and month-end close processes.
- Stay informed on accounting standards and SEC reporting requirements, including new regulatory changes.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.
- Monitor developments in financial reporting and regulatory landscapes.
- Cross-train to provide backup support for key operational functions such as reconciliations and ad-hoc reporting.
- Serve as a backup for various administrative and operational responsibilities as needed.
