The Opportunity
We are seeking a Medior Software Engineer to expand our internal engineering capabilities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across backend engineering, data systems, and applied AI.
Your scope will include:
- API Engineering (40%)
- DevOps & Infrastructure (20%)
- AI Co‑Development (20%)
- .NET Systems Development (20%)
You will collaborate closely with a Solutions Architect and an AI Engineer to design and maintain the services, data flows, and automation layers that power the company's core business operations. Your work will have a direct and visible impact on decision‑making and workflow efficiency across the organization.
What You Will Do
API Engineering & Data Pipelines
- Develop and maintain APIs and backend services connecting external data sources to internal platforms.
- Build ingestion pipelines to transform unstructured and structured datasets into reliable internal stores.
- Ensure secure, scalable, and well-documented integrations across systems.
DevOps & Infrastructure
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, observability, and cloud‑native engineering practices.
- Manage secrets, key vaults, cloud resources, and automation frameworks.
- Support architectural decisions around scalability and schema design.
AI Co‑Development
- Partner with the AI Engineer to build internal AI‑powered tools (e.g., document agents, NLP scoring engines, workflow automation, analytics).
- Integrate AI pipelines into internal systems and operational workflows.
- Experiment with modern technologies such as LLM orchestration and retrieval-augmented generation.
.NET Systems Development
- Extend backend logic and workflow automation within the company's Microsoft‑based ecosystem.
- Build reusable components that support finance, compliance, and investor‑facing teams.
- Surface structured data for reporting and analytics using cloud-native tooling.
What We Are Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience in backend engineering or systems integration.
- Strong Python skills (pipelines, ETL, AI tooling).
- Familiarity with C#/.NET Core for backend extensions.
- Experience with REST APIs, cloud environments (Azure preferred), and service integrations.
- Solid understanding of data orchestration, validation, and cross‑system workflows.
- Ability to iterate quickly while also producing production‑ready solutions.
Preferred Experience
- Working with unstructured data (PDFs, filings, research documents).
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform or Dynamics 365 custom components.
- Background in investment, biotech, or financial services (not required).
- Interest in applied AI engineering (LLM pipelines, metadata enrichment, orchestration frameworks).
