Product Manager - Data
About the Role
My client is hiring a Product Manager who will own all data integration initiatives across the MGA. This person will play a key role in connecting internal systems, carrier partners, distribution partners, and third party data sources to improve underwriting workflows, operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and customer experience. This is a highly cross functional role that sits at the intersection of product, engineering, underwriting, operations, distribution, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the end to end product lifecycle for data integration features including discovery, requirements gathering, solution design, prioritization, delivery, and ongoing optimization
* Build and manage integrations with carrier partners, wholesale and retail distribution systems, policy administration systems, rating engines, submission intake tools, and other core insurance platforms
* Translate business needs from underwriting, operations, actuarial, compliance, and distribution teams into clear product requirements
* Partner closely with engineering to design and deliver data pipelines and API connections that ensure accurate and timely flow of information
* Develop a roadmap for all data integrations with clear business impact, return on investment, and supporting metrics
* Ensure that data is structured, validated, and delivered according to carrier guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal data governance practices
* Support the onboarding of new carrier programs, third party vendors, and distribution partners by managing all data and system integration requirements
* Identify process gaps and opportunities to streamline data flows from submission to bind to post bind servicing
* Lead user acceptance testing for all integration releases and ensure successful deployment
* Create documentation including data dictionaries, workflow diagrams, integration playbooks, and training materials
* Serve as a subject matter expert on the MGA tech stack and data strategy
* Communicate progress and updates to leadership with clarity and transparency
Required Experience
* Three to five years of product management experience with a focus on data integration or system connectivity
* Experience within the P and C insurance ecosystem including carrier, MGA, insurtech, or broker technology environments
* Familiarity with policy administration systems, rating systems, submission intake tools, and carrier connectivity workflows
* Strong understanding of API design, data mapping, schema structure, and data quality principles
* Proven ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements
* Experience partnering with engineering teams to build and release integration features
* Strong communication skills with ability to work effectively across underwriting, operations, actuarial, compliance, and sales
* Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritize competing demands
* Ability to operate in a fast paced environment with evolving business needs
