VP, Risk Manager Spread Products
A top-tier investment bank is looking to hire a VP-level candidate to join their Market Risk team in NYC, covering spread products.
This risk manager position will provide oversight of trading desks across agency and non-agency securitized products, corporate credit, and municipal securities. Responsibilities include working closely with front-office teams to ensure adherence to risk frameworks and limits, analyzing and reporting key risk metrics. Reviewing and approving trades, while evaluating market conditions/trends, and trading behavior. The role will also support cross-functional teams on new product implementation and help enhance policies and methodologies to improve overall risk processes.
Ideal candidates will have 4+ years of Market Risk experience, covering Securitized Products MBS, RMBS, CMBS or Credit Trading IG, HY, EM Bonds, Lev Loans, CDS/CDX. With a strong understanding of risk metrics such as VaR, sensitivities, and stress testing results.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the trading desks covering spread products to enforce risk limits and ensure alignment with internal policies, methodologies, and trading mandates.
- Monitor and evaluate risk exposures, delivering timely analysis and reporting to key stakeholders.
- Provide insights on market trends and analysis to present it to senior management, regulators, and auditors.
- Support enhancements to risk infrastructure and new product onboarding initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of relevant experience in Market Risk Managment.
- Hands-on exposure to Securitized Products MBS, RMBS, CMBS or Credit Trading IG, HY, EM Bonds, Lev Loans, CDS/CDX
- Strong quantitative and analytical skill set, with the ability to clearly communicate complex risk concepts.
- Detail-oriented and proactive, with the ability to solve problems independently and operate effectively in a fast-paced trading environment
