A leading Investment Bank in NYC is investing heavily in the expansion of its Market Risk function, with a particular focus on Global Market Shock (GMS) and firm-wide stress testing capabilities. As part of this strategic initiative, the bank is building out a new, high-impact team that will sit at the center of regulatory, risk, and front-office engagement.

This is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage of the build, where you will play a foundational role in shaping frameworks, methodologies, and governance around market stress scenarios and capital adequacy.

Ideal candidates will have 8-10+ years of experience in Market Risk or Counterparty Risk with hands on experience leading various regulatory Market Risk initiatives such as FRTB, Stress Testing, CCAR, etc. It is a huge bonus if this person has prior experience working directly on a GMS program.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development and enhancement of Global Market Shock (GMS) methodologies within the Market Risk framework
  • Play a key role in stress testing, scenario design, and loss attribution across trading portfolios
  • Partner closely with Front Office, Risk, Finance, and Regulatory teams to ensure alignment with evolving regulatory expectations
  • Contribute to CCAR / stress testing submissions, helping translate market moves into capital impacts
  • Help define and implement new processes, controls, and infrastructure as part of the broader team buildout

Qualifications:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in Market Risk, Stress Testing, or Capital Markets Risk regulatory initiatives like CCAR, Market Risk Capital, FRTB etc.
  • Exposure to Global Market Shock (GMS), CCAR, or regulatory stress frameworks
  • Strong understanding of trading products and market risk drivers
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to build teams, mentor talent, and deliver under tight regulatory timelines
  • Ability to operate in a buildout / evolving environment
