Senior Technical Accounting Analyst
Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical accounting expertise aligned with U.S. GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles across a broad range of topics and stakeholders.
- Lead or support special projects involving complex accounting issues.
- Partner with operations teams to implement new accounting standards and ensure accurate treatment of emerging business activities.
- Stay informed on updates from standard-setting bodies and actively engage in relevant industry forums.
- Assist in preparing accounting disclosures and provide guidance to operational teams.
- Drive process improvements to strengthen compliance with accounting regulations.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure alignment with company accounting policies.
- Act as a key resource during internal and external audits.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed, including tasks within accounting operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (equivalent experience or certifications may be considered).
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting.
- Preferred background in the insurance industry and/or experience with a Big Four accounting firm.
- Demonstrated ability to draft clear and thorough technical accounting memos.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Familiarity with life and annuity insurance products is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
