Senior Lead Frontend Engineer

Our client, a world-leading hedge fund, is seeking a Senior Lead Frontend Engineer to drive the development of high-performance trading platforms and internal web applications. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with traders, quantitative analysts, and backend engineers to build intuitive, scalable, and data-rich interfaces that support real-time decision-making and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and development of frontend systems using React.js, Typescript, and GraphQL.
  • Build and optimize data-intensive UI components with AG Grid and other visualization libraries.
  • Collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs and services built in Node.js and other server-side languages.
  • Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and reliability across all web applications.
  • Champion best practices in frontend engineering, including testing, CI/CD, and code quality.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical leadership across the engineering team.

Role Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in frontend development, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Deep expertise in React.js, Typescript, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of GraphQL, RESTful APIs, and backend integration patterns.
  • Experience with AG Grid or similar tools for handling large datasets in the UI.
  • Familiarity with backend technologies such as Node.js and a server-side language (e.g., Python, Java, or C#).
  • Background in financial services or other real-time, data-driven environments is highly desirable.
