Hedge Fund Operations Associate
Selby Jennings is partnered with an innovative quantitative hedge fund looking to add a junior-to-mid level operations associate to support the onboarding of new strategies, portfolio managers, and products across the firm. This individual will be responsible for full front to back onboarding steps, acting as a liaison among teams, and providing guidance to ensure a seamless transition to full launch and deployment. This role requires candidates with strong understanding of end-to-end trading processes (pre-trade, live trading, and post-trade) and the ability to support multiple work streams across the business.
Responsibilities
- Verifying reconciliations and breaks for pilot trades and deployment
- Provide Operational support for SME's (Subject Matter Experts) across multiple trading strategies
- Develop business relationships and facilitate requests with external investors, investment banks, prime brokers, vendors, and counter-parties
- Lead the transition from onboarding to live operations by incrementally educating and preparing internal teams for production live coverage support
- Engage with internal and external teams to conduct pilot production trades
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a financial services firm; Experience working in a Buy-side shop heavily preferred
- Bachelors degree or transferable work experience
- Experience using SQL for database queries and reporting
- Strong interpersonal skills
