Reinsurance Capital Management
Key Responsibilities:
Capital Strategy & Planning
- Lead the development and execution of the firm's capital management strategy, including capital allocation, optimization, and forecasting.
- Evaluate capital efficiency across business units and recommend strategic initiatives to enhance return on capital.
Reinsurance & Risk Transfer
- Partner with reinsurance and risk teams to structure capital-efficient reinsurance programs (e.g., quota share, excess of loss, financial reinsurance).
- Support the design and implementation of capital relief transactions including ModCo, funds withheld, and sidecar arrangements.
Regulatory & Rating Agency Engagement
- Ensure compliance with capital adequacy standards under Solvency II, NAIC, and other relevant frameworks.
- Liaise with rating agencies to maintain or improve credit ratings through transparent capital strategy and reporting.
Capital Markets & Treasury
- Oversee capital raising initiatives including debt issuance, equity financing, and alternative capital solutions.
- Monitor liquidity and funding needs, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Lead capital stress testing, scenario analysis, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide insights and recommendations to executive leadership on capital trends and emerging risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in capital management, reinsurance, or financial strategy within insurance or reinsurance sectors.
- Deep understanding of capital markets, reinsurance structures, and regulatory capital frameworks.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication abilities.
