Job Title: Head of Operations Underwriting
Location: Scranton, PA (Hybrid: 2 days in office, 3 days remote)
Our client is a small business insurance carrier looking to bring on a Head of Operations Underwriting. You will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial lines underwriting and proven supervisory or management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the underwriting team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
- Oversee the underwriting process to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely decision-making.
- Develop and implement underwriting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to align underwriting strategies with overall business goals.
- Monitor industry trends and adjust underwriting practices to maintain competitive advantage.
- Analyze underwriting performance metrics and report findings to senior management.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the underwriting team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of commercial lines underwriting experience.
- Proven supervisory or management experience in an underwriting environment required.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
