Head of Amsterdam - Debt Advisory
Key Responsibilities
As the Head of Amsterdam Debt Advisory, you will:
- Lead and grow the Benelux debt advisory business, including strategic positioning, P&L ownership, and team development
- Originate, structure, and execute complex financing mandates, including acquisition financing, leveraged finance, refinancing, recapitalisations, and special situations
- Maintain and expand relationships across private equity, credit funds, banks, family offices, and corporates
- Supervise and mentor high‑performing junior and mid-level professionals, ensuring technical excellence and rigorous execution standards
- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Europe to drive cross-border initiatives, co‑origination, and best-practice sharing
- Represent the platform in meetings, conferences, and strategic dialogues with key market participants
- Ensure regulatory, compliance, and governance standards are met across all transactions and client engagements
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a recognised senior figure in debt advisory or structured finance, with a strong network across Benelux and broader European capital markets.
Required experience & qualifications:
- Currently operating at Managing Director level within Debt Advisory, Leveraged Finance, Capital Structuring, or a related financing discipline
- Proven track record originating and leading mid-market or upper mid-market financing transactions
- Strong technical expertise in capital structuring, lender negotiations, and execution of complex debt solutions
- Deep network across lenders (banks, unitranche lenders, credit funds, private lenders, mezzanine providers)
- Demonstrable leadership capabilities and prior experience managing and developing high‑performing teams
- Commercially driven mindset with an entrepreneurial approach to business building
- Fluency in English required; Dutch strongly preferred
