Senior Leader, Cash & Payment Operational Risk
We are partnered wtih a firm seeking a senior operations leader to oversee cash and payments operations supporting corporate and commercial banking clients. This role is responsible for operational delivery, process optimization, people leadership, and first‑line ownership of risk and controls across multi‑location teams.
The position combines hands‑on operational management with strategic oversight, focusing on scale, resiliency, and consistent client outcomes across regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day execution of U.S. cash and payments operations across multiple locations.
- Manage teams responsible for deposit and payment processing in support of corporate and commercial client activity.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics, service standards, and operational reporting.
- Serve as senior escalation point for complex operational, client, and internal issues.
- Identify operational risks and control gaps; implement remediation and preventative controls.
- Drive efficiency through process redesign, standardization, automation, and reduced manual handling.
- Partner with technology, product, and governance teams on system enhancements and operating model changes.
- Own operational readiness for audits, regulatory reviews, and internal governance forums.
- Promote a strong risk and control culture aligned with enterprise risk appetite.
- Build, develop, and retain a high‑performing leadership team through coaching and succession planning.
Scope & Operating Environment
- Direct management of multiple people leaders; total team size 10+.
- Operational support spanning the U.S. with cross‑border stakeholder interaction.
- Exposure to multiple internal platforms and reporting systems.
- Regular interaction with audit, compliance, and regulatory entities.
- Central role in business continuity and operational resiliency planning.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline preferred.
- 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in banking or financial services operations.
- Strong background in cash management, payments, or deposit operations.
- Demonstrated accountability for operational risk, controls, and audit outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead teams through change and operational transformation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with standard business productivity tools.
