FPGA Engineer
A leading trading firm is expanding its hardware teams with strong FPGA Engineers in Chicago.
What You'll Do:
- Design and develop high-performance FPGA solutions for latency-sensitive systems
- Accelerate critical infrastructure and data processing components through custom hardware architectures
- Explore emerging technologies, platforms, and design approaches that can improve system performance
- Partner closely with quantitative researchers, software engineers, and infrastructure teams
- Develop custom hardware interfaces for next-generation computing environments
- Evaluate and collaborate with external technology providers where appropriate
- Take ownership of projects from concept through deployment
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Professional experience designing, implementing, and validating FPGA or ASIC-based systems
- Strong understanding of digital design principles and hardware architecture
- Experience with HDL development using technologies such as VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
- Familiarity with C and/or C++ is beneficial
- Knowledge of RTL design flows, timing closure, synthesis, and constraint management
- Experience with simulation environments, verification methodologies, and automated test frameworks
- Exposure to hardware bring-up, debugging, and system integration is advantageous
- Ability to collaborate effectively across software and hardware engineering disciplines
