Director of Finance Responsibilities:

  • Direct the business unit's planning and forecasting cycles, ensuring projections are reliable, aligned, and useful for leadership decision‑making.
  • Steer critical financial performance initiatives, taking ownership of "Go Get" targets to help the organization achieve budgeted outcomes.
  • Lead the assessment of risks and opportunities, translating insights into clear actions that enhance performance and unlock potential upside.
  • Evaluate performance shortfalls and partner with leaders to implement solutions that keep the business on track financial commitments.
  • Drive cost‑improvement initiatives, identifying and executing actions that strengthen profitability and the bottom line.
  • Develop finance as a strategic partner, coaching teams to use financial data and analysis to influence decisions and create competitive advantage.
  • Oversee working capital KPIs, ensuring disciplined management and delivery of improvement initiatives.
  • Play a key role in CAPEX planning and governance, supporting investment decisions and long‑term capital strategy.


Director of Finance Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • 6 - 10 years of progressive finance experience, ideally in manufacturing or advanced technology
  • Proven track record of delivering results in challenging or dynamic business environments
  • Expertise in FP&A, P&L ownership, financial modeling, and strategic analysis
  • Strong command of Excel and data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Hyperion)
  • Deep understanding of financial statements and operational drivers
  • Ability to analyze ambiguous or limited data and generate clear, actionable insights
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across diverse teams
  • Strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach to problem solving and execution

Preferred

  • Experience in metals‑related or materials‑driven manufacturing industries
  • Demonstrated experience influencing cross‑functional stakeholders in global or matrixed organizations
  • Exposure to continuous improvement practices (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
