Agri Business Underwriting Specialist
My client is currently looking for a Agri Business Underwriter who would be responsible for reviewing applications for agri business insurance, assessing risk attributes, determining appropriate pricing, and ensuring compliance with company guidelines and policies. This role involves building strong agency relationships to develop new business opportunities, maintaining a profitable renewal book, and managing the overall portfolio to meet profitability metrics!
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze agri business insurance applications to determine risk acceptance.
- Apply sound underwriting principles to evaluate exposures and recommend appropriate coverage.
- Ensure pricing aligns with company guidelines and profitability objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with agencies to drive new business and retain renewals.
- Monitor and manage the book of business to meet service, production, and profitability standards.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive conditions, and regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support marketing and underwriting strategies.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of agri business underwriting experience with small to medium-sized commercial risks.
- Completion of technical insurance coursework preferred (AFIS, CPCU, AU, ARM, CRM, CIC).
Knowledge of:
- Agri Business Insurance underwriting principles, procedures, and regulations.
- Commercial lines coverages and rating plans (ISO or similar).
- Social, economic, and competitive aspects of assigned territory.
