Actuarial Modeling Leader - Asset & ALM Modeling (Life & Annuity)

An industry‑leading reinsurer is seeking an Actuarial Modeling Leader to join a high‑performing team responsible for the development, maintenance, and governance of actuarial models supporting a broad portfolio of U.S. and international life and annuity products. This team oversees both traditional life products-such as Term, UL, and Whole Life-and a diverse range of non‑traditional offerings, including Variable and Fixed Annuities, Fixed Index Annuities, SPIAs, Longevity deals, and other reinsurance structures.

In this role, the Actuarial Modeling Leader will focus on asset modeling and asset‑liability interaction within Prophet, ensuring models integrate seamlessly with liability projections and meet evolving regulatory and reporting requirements.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as this role interacts regularly with senior leadership and partners closely with valuation, finance, and other actuarial teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Leads major Prophet ALS modeling initiatives, including development of new asset class functionality, valuation‑driven enhancements, regulatory updates, and platform upgrades.
• Supports broad modeling projects, such as onboarding new treaties, enhancing projection capabilities, improving governance standards, and building transparency and metrics for financial reporting.
• Ensures full compliance with statutory, GAAP, and Tax requirements for both traditional and non‑traditional products, supported by high‑quality documentation.
• Drives improvements to the organization's model governance framework and documentation standards.
• Develops deep expertise across model components and serves as a primary resource for troubleshooting, training, and resolving questions from reporting and analysis teams.
• Provides oversight, coaching, and mentorship to junior actuarial and financial staff, fostering an engaged, collaborative, and high‑performance work environment.
• Partners with cross‑functional teams to strengthen valuation, financial analysis, and model integration processes.
• Contributes to global actuarial projects and participates in ad‑hoc valuation or modeling efforts as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
• FSA designation (or equivalent).
• Significant experience modeling non‑traditional products such as deferred annuities, payout annuities, PRT, stable value, and LTC, including reinsurance structures.
• Strong asset modeling expertise across a range of asset classes, including fixed income, structured securities, private placements, commercial mortgages, derivatives, and equities.
• At least 7 years of actuarial experience within life insurance or reinsurance.
• Extensive experience with open actuarial projection or valuation platforms-Prophet, MoSes, MG‑ALFA, Algo FM, or similar-with strong preference for Prophet.
• Hands‑on experience with Prophet Professional (liability and ALS libraries) and Prophet Enterprise.
