Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Actuarial Manager to lead and support our actuarial team. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex actuarial analyses, work on a variety of projects, and collaborate across departments to drive business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a passion for problem-solving, and a demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of actuaries and actuarial analysts, providing guidance on day-to-day tasks and professional development.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of actuarial reports for senior leadership, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., finance, underwriting, claims) to deliver actionable insights and data-driven recommendations.
- Collaborate in the development of new products and pricing strategies, considering market trends and emerging risks.
- Review and refine actuarial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) designation preferred; progress towards designation will also be considered.
- 5+ years of actuarial experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., SQL, Excel, R, Python) and modeling techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience in team leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
