Client/Job Summary:
Our client is building a property management platform and is seeking a VP of Finance/Controller as their first senior finance leader. This role involves leading core finance and accounting functions, designing and implementing internal processes and controls, and building the foundation for the firm. This position offers the chance to work on high-impact projects, drive efficiency across the business, and a clear path to CFO as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all finance and accounting activities across multiple entities.
- Build a fast, reliable monthly close process and ensure financial accuracy and controls.
- Update property-level and corporate accounting workflows for efficiency including balance sheet reconciliations, GL, audit readiness, and inter-company accounting.
- Standardize reporting, chart of accounts, and AP/AR processes.
- Evaluate and streamline financial systems and ensure clean data flows.
- Improve visibility into spending and identify efficiency opportunities.
- Develop and run the finance integration playbook for acquisitions.
- Lead finance integration for newly acquired entities and ensure adoption of standards within a few months.
Key Qualifications:
- 8-15+ YOE in accounting and finance, including senior leadership roles.
- Experience with managing monthly close processes across multiple entities, acquisitions, integrations, M&A & roll-ups.
- Experience overseeing accounting teams (specifically AP/AR) a plus.
- Familiarity with property management platforms (Yardi, Entrata, RealPage) a plus.
