UI Engineer - Capital Markets
Our client, a prominent capital markets firm, is seeking a skilled and experienced GUI Developer to join their front-office technology team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building high-performance, user-centric web applications that support trading, risk, and analytics platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive and intuitive web-based GUIs for trading and analytics platforms
- Collaborate closely with traders, quants, and backend developers to deliver real-time, data-rich interfaces
- Translate complex business requirements into elegant and performant front-end solutions
- Integrate and visualize large datasets using interactive dashboards and charts
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and usability
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices
- Contribute to UI/UX discussions and help shape the visual language of internal tools
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in front-end development, preferably in financial services or capital markets
- Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
- Hands-on experience with React.js and/or Vue.js in production environments
- Experience with data visualization libraries
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous data handling
- Proficient in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and basic SQL
- Experience with build tools and version control (Webpack, Git)
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a trading floor or front-office environment
- Exposure to real-time data visualization and WebSocket integration
- Familiarity with TypeScript
- Understanding of capital markets products (e.g., equities, FX, derivatives)
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
