Senior Actuary - ALM/Risk Management
A leading life and annuity insurance company is seeking a Senior Actuary to join its dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, resourceful, and well-organized professional to make a meaningful impact across a high-growth organization. The initial focus will be on ALM, Asset Modeling, and Risk Management for annuity and life insurance products.
This role offers direct exposure to the company's insurance operating entities and senior leadership, including the Head of Life and Annuities, Chief Investment Officer, Chief Actuary, and Chief Financial Officer. You'll have the chance to contribute to both new business and in-force functions, with significant opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ALM and hedging effectiveness studies
- Perform asset modeling and cash flow testing
- Lead risk management initiatives including ORSA, scenario analysis, and risk reporting
- Monitor and analyze asset performance
- Enhance models using GGY AXIS
- Develop profitability metrics and reporting
- Participate in high-profile projects with senior decision-makers
- Collaborate closely with finance and insurance teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, finance, economics, or related field
- ASA or FSA designation
- 5+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in annuities and life insurance
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and GGY AXIS; tech-savvy mindset a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with asset modeling, cash flow testing, and reinsurance preferred
- Familiarity with pre-need or final expense life insurance products a plus
- US Statutory and/or GAAP financial reporting experience preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, opportunity-rich environment
