Overview
A private markets investment firm with more than twenty‑five years of experience is seeking a Vice President to support its private credit and private equity investment activities within the lower middle market. The firm has deployed and managed over $5 billion across North America and partners with management teams to provide flexible capital solutions that drive long‑term value creation.
Role Summary
The Vice President will be responsible for evaluating, executing, and managing a broad range of investment transactions, including leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, management buyouts, refinancings, and growth financings. This role includes close collaboration with senior leadership throughout the deal lifecycle and direct involvement in investment decision‑making, execution, and portfolio oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages and enhances complex financial models for debt and equity transactions, including LBOs, recapitalizations, buyouts, and growth financings.
- Evaluates new investment opportunities and prepares clear, well‑supported materials and recommendations for internal review.
- Leads due diligence processes, coordinating with management teams and external advisors to verify financial, operational, and legal information.
- Supports portfolio companies post‑investment through board‑level engagement, performance monitoring, and strategic initiative support.
- Mentors junior team members by reviewing analytical work and contributing to their professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, private equity, or private credit.
- Strong analytical ability and experience building and interpreting complex financial models.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple workstreams concurrently.
- Highly self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to producing high‑quality deliverables.
- Strong team orientation and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
