Our client is a boutique asset management firm based in Hong Kong, specializing in long/short strategies across global derivatives markets. With a data-driven approach and a strong focus on risk management, the firm is known for its agility, precision, and integrity. This is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit team operating at the forefront of global markets.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Fund Accountant / Operations Associate to join the firm's back and middle office. This role is integral to the daily functioning of the fund, offering direct exposure to portfolio managers, traders, and external service providers. Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

What does the role involve?

  • Perform daily reconciliation of trades, positions, and cash across brokers and administrators
  • Assist in NAV calculation and maintain shadow accounting records
  • Monitor daily P&L, margin requirements, and risk exposures
  • Liaise with fund administrators, custodians, prime brokers, and auditors
  • Support trade booking, confirmation, and settlement processes
  • Maintain accurate internal records and operational systems
  • Assist with regulatory filings and compliance documentation
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives

What experience do you need?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 2-5 years of experience in fund accounting or operations, ideally within a hedge fund or derivatives-focused environment
  • Solid understanding of financial instruments, including options, futures, swaps, and equities
  • Familiarity with Hong Kong's regulatory landscape (SFC Type 9 license is a plus)
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with fund accounting systems is advantageous
  • High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Fluent in English; Cantonese or Mandarin is a bonus
