Position: Information Security Specialist (all genders)

Location: Wiesbaden (hybrid: 2-3 days a week home office)

Estimated Salary: 75.000-85.000€* base

Hours: 40/week

Languages: fluent German (C1+) & English (B2+)

A well-established financial institution with strong regional roots and a focus on long-term stability is seeking an experienced Information Security Specialist to join its regulatory and compliance division. This role supports key efforts to align internal security practices with evolving regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Information Security Officer in day-to-day responsibilities
  • Enhance and implement processes and internal controls in the area of information security
  • Monitor regulatory and legal developments and assess implications for the organization
  • Maintain and update internal policies and procedural documentation related to IT security
  • Provide training, guidance, and expert support to departments on security-related matters
  • Assist in producing regular internal reports and documentation
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and internal working groups
  • As needed, assist the data protection team with operational tasks

Your Profile:

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience in the information security function of a financial institution, consulting firm, or audit company, or as an IT Auditor
  • Academic degree in business, IT, or comparable qualifications through training and further education in banking or IT
  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks and standards, such as MaRisk, BAIT, DORA, ISO 27001, BSI standards, GDPR, and emerging EU tech regulations
  • Analytical mindset and ability to work independently and systematically
  • High level of interest in new technologies and security trends
  • Confident communicator who collaborates well across departments
  • Motivation to continuously learn and take on new areas of responsibility
