The opportunity

Our client is looking for a Director for Asset‑Based Lending to run and scale the ABL franchise on the private‑side of the business. You'll own the full lifecycle-origination, structuring, underwriting, execution, distribution, and portfolio oversight-across working‑capital revolvers and secured term tranches (A/R, inventory, M&E, and select real estate) for mid‑market and large‑cap corporate and sponsor clients. This is a hands‑on leadership role: you will lead the team, set strategy and P&L, and be the senior point of contact for clients, sponsors, appraisers, counsel, and internal stakeholders (risk, legal, ops, syndications).


What you'll do

Leadership & strategy

  • Own strategy, budget and P&L for the ABL private‑credit platform; define product roadmap (revolver, FILO/term tranches, unitranche/club solutions), sector focus, and regional coverage.
  • Build, lead, and coach a high‑performing team (origination, underwriting, portfolio, and syndications interface); institute best‑practice credit discipline and execution standards.
  • Drive pipeline management and coverage cadence with corporate clients, sponsors, advisors, and referrers; establish consistent origination KPIs and conversion metrics.

Origination & client coverage

  • Source, pitch, and structure bespoke ABL facilities backed by eligible A/R and inventory (NOLV‑anchored), M&E, and select CRE to support liquidity, M&A, recapitalisations, growth, and turnarounds.
  • Lead term‑sheet design and negotiation (advance rates, eligibility, reserves, borrowing‑base mechanics, concentration limits, springing dominion, covenants, intercreditor).
  • Manage private‑side engagement with clients and sponsors (NDAs, wall‑crossing and information barrier protocols) from first look through closing.
