Position Overview

The Corporate Actuarial team is seeking a dynamic and collaborative actuarial leader to support and enhance statutory Cash Flow Testing (CFT) and C3P1 capital processes across multiple insurance entities. This role sits on the Appointed Actuary's team and is part of a small, highly visible group responsible for the quarterly execution, analysis, and reporting of CFT and C3P1 results.

The AVP, Corporate Actuarial will partner closely with Investments, Risk, Finance, Actuarial Modeling, and Technology teams to ensure high‑quality production, strong governance, regulatory compliance, and meaningful insights for senior leadership. This role offers a blend of technical depth, cross‑functional collaboration, and process leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support quarterly statutory Cash Flow Testing and C3P1 capital production for multiple insurance entities
  • Maintain and enhance the end‑to‑end CFT production process, including data validation, model execution, results review, attribution analysis, and management reporting
  • Develop new processes and enhance existing workflows as business needs evolve
  • Maintain and strengthen governance, documentation, and internal controls related to the CFT process; design and implement new controls where appropriate
  • Partner with Actuarial Modeling and Production teams to ensure models are appropriately maintained, controlled, and enhanced for CFT and C3P1 purposes
  • Collaborate with Investments and Risk teams to ensure asset assumptions and ALM strategies are accurately reflected in projections
  • Review and challenge model outputs to ensure accuracy, reasonableness, and regulatory compliance
  • Prepare year‑end statutory filings related to Cash Flow Testing in accordance with Actuarial Guidelines, the NAIC Valuation Manual, and Actuarial Standards of Practice
  • Support internal and external audit activities and respond to regulatory inquiries
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements, including the development of data visualization tools
  • Present results, insights, and recommendations to actuarial leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related field
  • FSA or near‑FSA with 8+ years of experience in the life and/or annuity insurance industry preferred
  • Direct experience with MG‑ALFA or other actuarial valuation and projection software strongly preferred
  • Experience with asset modeling and asset‑liability management (ALM) concepts preferred
  • Experience with databases, Power BI, or other data visualization tools is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex actuarial problems and work deeply in technical detail
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. statutory framework and Cash Flow Testing requirements
