A fast-growing fintech firm specializing in financial data and analytics is seeking a highly motivated and disciplined Associate VP of Sales to join its dynamic team. This is a high-impact, unique opportunity to help shape the sales function while driving both new business and account growth.
About the Role:
As an Associate VP of Sales, you'll be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities (approximately 75% hunting) while also managing and expanding existing client relationships (25% farming). You'll work closely with financial institutions offering tailored data solutions that support trading, compliance, and operational workflows.
This is an individual contributor role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment and is looking to make a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect and engage financial services firms to introduce and position the firm's data solutions.
- Manage the full sales cycle-from initial outreach to closing-across both desktop and enterprise data products.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and client satisfaction.
- Report on pipeline activity and performance metrics using CRM tools.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of B2B sales experience in fintech or financial data.
- Strong understanding of financial services workflows and how firms consume market and reference data.
- Proven success in a hunter-style sales role, with experience managing both short and longer sales cycles.
- Highly self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working independently.
Compensation & Structure:
- Base salary: $100K, with generous variable compensation structure.
- Hybrid work model: 2-3 days/week in Jersey City.
