Experienced Technology Trading Operations Engineer
Location: Amsterdam

A leading global trading firm is seeking a skilled Trading Operations Engineer to join its Engineering team. This team plays a critical role in maintaining and scaling the firm's low-latency trading systems, ensuring a stable and efficient production environment that supports profitability and sustainable growth across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support to high-frequency trading operations, resolving complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
Deploy, monitor, and maintain proprietary trading applications to ensure optimal performance and stability.
Analyze incidents to identify patterns and drive improvements in automation and operational efficiency.
Coordinate deployments of new trading systems and products, ensuring readiness for market events and updates.
Design and maintain services to maximize reliability and meet performance thresholds.
Collaborate with development teams to implement best practices and ensure long-term system stability.
Establish standards for system configuration and deployment to support scalability and minimize risk.
Manage colocation infrastructure to ensure redundancy and capacity for growth.
Automate system management processes while maintaining control over critical operations.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

Strong experience managing distributed systems in Linux environments.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, build systems, deployment pipelines, and version control.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and experience with CI/CD tooling.
Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) or similar systems.
Proven ability to drive system improvements and collaborate across global teams.

Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and effective cross-functional communication skills.
Logical and pragmatic thinker who performs well under pressure and can troubleshoot efficiently.
Clear communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts and ask insightful questions.
