Position Overview:
Our client, an A+ rated AM Best carrier is looking to bring on an experienced Senior General Liability Claims Specialist to the team. This role will be responsible for carrying out coverage review, claims investigation, administration, and settlement for General Liability claims. The ideal candidate will have extensive litigation experience and have handled claims nationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of complex claims, including fact-finding, document analysis, and review of legal filings to determine overall exposure.
- Interpret policy language and evaluate liability and damages to guide reserving decisions and shape effective resolution approaches.
- Supervise external legal partners and vendors, ensuring counsel strategy, risk transfer opportunities, and indemnification positions are properly executed.
- Advance claims toward resolution through strategic negotiations, participation in mediations or trials, and use of structured settlements when advantageous.
- Provide clear, ongoing communication to all stakeholders while maintaining accurate records, timely reserve updates, and prompt responses to inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or related field.
- 5+ years general liability claims handling experience.
- Strong analytic and communication skills.
