Risk Developer - Core Tech
A global investment firm is seeking a Risk Developer to join their NYC office as a member of the risk technology team, with a focus on building out risk analytics and reporting infrastructure in the US timezone. The ideal candidate will be a backend-focused generalist with experience in data ingestion, intraday risk, and distributed systems, and will thrive in a collaborative, low-ego environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable risk analytics and reporting systems across asset classes (equities, MBS, etc)
- Operate autonomously while collaborating with global teams across Europe and Asia.
- Support the migration of legacy tools to modern infrastructure, including ClickHouse and web-based UIs.
- Contribute to greenfield development projects for risk analytics with high visibility and impact.
- Engage with stakeholders across Risk, Portfolio Research, and Finance to deliver robust solutions.
Candidate Profile:
- 2+ years of backend development experience in Python
- Strong understanding of financial markets, particularly equities and fixed income.
- Familiarity with GitLab and collaborative development workflows.
- Clear, critical thinker with strong design and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn an in-house functional programming language.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to risk systems, analytics, or reporting infrastructure.
- Background in building tools for intraday or real-time data processing.
