Regulatory Compliance Director
A client of ours, leading commodities exchange, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Regulatory Compliance Director to join their team in Amsterdam. This pivotal role involves overseeing and managing all compliance functions to ensure that operations adhere to legal standards and internal policies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and a proven track record in compliance management within the financial or commodities sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Compliance Programs: Design and execute comprehensive compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Monitor Regulatory Changes: Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting the commodities exchange and implement necessary adjustments.
- Conduct Audits and Assessments: Regularly perform audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential compliance issues.
- Advise Senior Management: Provide expert advice to senior management on compliance matters and potential risk areas.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on regulatory requirements and foster a culture of compliance.
- Liaise with Regulatory Bodies: Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies and external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Investigate Compliance Issues: Lead investigations into compliance breaches and implement corrective actions.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain and update documentation related to compliance activities and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Over 10 years of experience in compliance or a related field, preferably within the investments or commodities sector.
- Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Regulatory Expertise: In depth regulatory knowledge including MIFID II, EMIR, MAR, REMIT.
- Languages: Fluency in English; Dutch advantagous
