As part of the Middle Market Casualty team, you'll help shape the future of insurance for mid-sized businesses across three key sectors: Construction, Hospitality, and Residential Real Estate. This role focuses on managing and growing a profitable book of excess casualty business through strong underwriting, relationship management, and collaboration. Success requires a team-oriented mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
This role will be hybrid and can sit in Chicago, IL, New York, NY, Atlanta, GA, or Scottsdale, AZ.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting & Portfolio Management:
- Underwrite new and renewal excess casualty accounts in line with company guidelines and authority.
- Evaluate risk, pricing, and coverage to ensure profitability and portfolio growth.
- Maintain high underwriting standards and clear communication with partners.
- Build a diverse, renewal-focused book of business.
Technical Excellence:
- Apply precise, data-driven underwriting decisions aligned with proprietary rate plans and guidelines.
Distribution & Service:
- Ensure underwriting rigor while maintaining efficiency and ease of doing business for our partners.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in E&S casualty underwriting or related insurance roles.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of energy and accountability.
