Managing Director
Position Summary:
The Managing Director (MD) in Private Equity is a senior leadership role responsible for driving investment strategy, sourcing and executing deals, managing portfolio companies, and leading fundraising efforts. The MD plays a critical role in shaping the firm's growth trajectory and maintaining strong relationships with investors, management teams, and industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Strategy & Execution
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities aligned with the firm's strategic objectives.
- Oversee due diligence processes, financial modeling, valuation analysis, and deal structuring.
- Negotiate and finalize transaction terms with counterparties and advisors.
Portfolio Management
- Serve on boards of portfolio companies and provide strategic guidance to management teams.
- Monitor performance, drive value creation initiatives, and manage exit strategies.
- Ensure compliance with governance, reporting, and operational standards.
Fundraising & Investor Relations
- Lead capital raising efforts for new funds and co-investment vehicles.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with institutional investors, family offices, and other capital providers.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and investor meetings.
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and develop junior investment professionals.
- Foster a high-performance culture and promote collaboration across teams.
- Contribute to firm-wide strategic planning and operational initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, or corporate development.
- Proven track record of successful deal execution and portfolio management.
- Strong network within the investment community and industry sectors.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Advanced degree (MBA, CFA, or equivalent) preferred.
