Long Term Care Actuary, Controllership Oversight
About the Role:
A reputable Insurance company is seeking a newly created FSA-level Actuary to join their team focused on strengthening actuarial controls, audit readiness, and process improvements. This is a high-impact, non-pricing role ideal for an experienced actuary looking to pivot toward governance, internal audit support, and enterprise-wide actuarial risk controls.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work within the Eastern or Central U.S. time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
Support internal audits by reviewing actuarial processes and documentation
Strengthen actuarial controls and help improve financial governance frameworks
Partner with cross-functional teams in valuation, finance, and risk to assess process gaps
Assist with SOX compliance and related audit activities
Serve as a subject matter expert for actuarial control standards and procedures
Qualifications:
Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA); newly credentialed or career FSA welcome
Minimum of 5 years of actuarial experience
Strong understanding of actuarial operations, valuation, or financial reporting processes
Excellent documentation, analytical, and communication skills
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Experience:
Background in long-term care (LTC) insurance
Prior experience with internal audit, SOX compliance, or actuarial governance
Familiarity with valuation or financial reporting systems and best practices
