Job Title: Investment Associate - Direct Lending & Special Situations
Location: New York, NY
Compensation: Base/Bonus up to $200k + Performance-Based Carry
A $750MM+ NYC-based family office is seeking an Investment Associate to join its lean, entrepreneurial team. The firm invests across the capital structure, with a focus on lower middle market (LMM) non-sponsored special situations private credit, while also maintaining a public equities portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, underwrite, and execute direct lending and special situations investments, primarily in the LMM space.
- Conduct deep fundamental analysis and due diligence across private credit and opportunistic equity investments.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on deal structuring, negotiation, and portfolio management.
- Monitor existing investments and support ongoing portfolio optimization.
- Contribute to public equities research and idea generation as needed.
Ideal Candidate:
- 2-5 years of experience in private credit, special situations, or direct lending, ideally from a family office, credit fund, or investment bank.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and credit underwriting skills.
- Experience with non-sponsored deal flow and a demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with both private and public markets is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to work in a flat, fast-paced environment.

- Base salary up to $200K
