The IT Infrastructure Manager position is based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, at a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company that is launching and expanding its operations in the country.

This role is pivotal in establishing and managing a robust, compliant, and scalable IT infrastructure to support our mission-critical pharmaceutical activities, including research, manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and business operations in a highly regulated environment.


About the Role
As IT Infrastructure Manager, you will lead the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing management of our hybrid IT infrastructure. This includes overseeing both on-premises environments and cloud-based services, with a strong emphasis on Windows services and hybrid cloud integration. You will build and lead a high-performing infrastructure team during this exciting launch phase, ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and cost-efficiency while supporting rapid business growth in the Netherlands.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, endpoints, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
  • Manage and develop Windows-based services (e.g., Active Directory, Windows Server environments, IIS, Microsoft 365/Exchange integrations, and related enterprise services).
  • Oversee a hybrid infrastructure model, integrating on-premises systems with leading cloud providers (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar) to support scalability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.
  • Develop and execute infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals, including migration plans, modernization efforts, and future-proofing for emerging technologies.
  • Lead incident management, problem resolution, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning.
  • Manage vendors, contracts, and service providers for hardware, software, cloud, and support services.
  • Build, mentor, and lead an infrastructure team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other IT functions (e.g., security, applications, end-user support) and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure services.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management,
  • Proven expertise in managing and developing Windows services and environments (e.g., Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization with Hyper-V/VMware).
  • Strong hands-on experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructures, including cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure), migration strategies, and hybrid integration.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security (firewalls, encryption, access controls), storage, backup/recovery, and endpoint management.

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Windows Server, Microsoft 365)
  • Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • CISM.
